OUTBOARD MOTOR-BOATS
Akarana is the first club this season to include a race for outboard motorboats. This has done a great deal to “push” these little speeders, which undoubtedly have a future on the Waitemata. Originally seven entries were booked, but actually there were three starters in the two races. Other craft turned out, but were unlucky in developing minor faults which prevented their starting. The choppy state of the harbour doubtless accounted for the non-appearance of the others. However, Rose Marie, Kurly Kale and Bacteria contested two exciting races, and all showed a fine turn of speed.
