GISBORNE OILFIELDS

REPORT ON PROGRESS Press Association. GISBORNE, To-day. The Taranaki Oilfields Company reports that the Waiapu No. 2 well has reached a depth of 2,755 feet, iq light grey shale. An 81-inch drain casing has been put down 2,740 feet. Gisborne No. 1 well is clown 1,740 feet, in alternating sandstone and shale. An 81-inch drain casing is down 1,703 feet. The Gisborne No. 2 well site is ready, and the transport of rig materials is proceeding.
