The battle of Blenheim was one of a series of battles won for the English by the Duke of Marlborough and his army over the French in the reign of Queen Anne (1702-1714). The other battles of note were Ramillies, Oudenarde and Malplaquet. Marlborough was rewarded, and Blenheim House, in Oxfordshire, is named after his great victory. -- -
