SIXPENCE TIME
CLOSING DATE EXTENDED The Dawn Lady has decided to keep our shining Sixpence Time box in Happy Town for another 10 days, or until December 20, so that all the Sunbeams who are saving their pennies to help the fund may have sufficient time to send their sixpences in. This year there has been much poverty in Auckland, and Sister Pat’s Camping Fund for giving waifs a holiday in the country, still needs much support. It is for this reason that we are keeping our shining box until the last possible moment, so that all the crannies may be filled and as many children as possible have a chance of being properly fed and cared for for a fortnight. There are plenty of ways of saving sixpence. If you live inside the first tram section, walking home from school three times will save sufficient to add a bright coin to the fund for little people to whom tram rides are an unheard of luxury. Some of the Sunbeams have emptied their money-boxes to help Sixpence Time. The Love Flower will always bloom for them on the Happiness Tree. Six pennies make one bright sixpence, and the shining box will hold as many as 800 sixpences. Let us see how many children we can send to Sister Pat’s Christmas Camp at Oneroa: . £ s. d.
