The story briefly is as j follows: —Fire Chief Dumstan's daugh- ! ter is very pretty, and lias the habit, when in trouble, of calling her father’s station and getting the men to help her out. The new men fall for most of it. To rescue her from a mudhole, where her car has stuck, the whole- brigade turns out. Again Elmer and Sam do their best to rescue the pet parrot, and later they are called out to help at an afternoon tea party. This is really the finishing touch for Papa. lie orders, on the threat of instant dismissal, everyone to refrain from answering calls from his home. Even at that moment a call comes through, and the men are forbidden to answer. Sauntering home, he finds that this time it is a real fire, and his legs cannot carry him back fast enough. "Now, Firemen, Save My Child!” he cries. Out dashes the brigade. Elmer and Sain with the ladder get lost on the way, but arrive in time to get the chief’s daughter, and unite her to Captain Kennedy. Then the three recognise one another, and the fun starts all over again.
