SWEET-PEA SHOW

GOOD DISPLAY EXPECTED The fourth show of the 1927-192 S season, under the auspices of the Auckland Horticultural Society, a display of sweet peas, is to open at St. Andrew’s Hall, Lower Symonds Street, on Thursday next, and will be continued on the Friday. Trophies to be awarded at this show include the Brett Challenge Cup (points in open classes), Yates Challenge Cup (points in amateur classes), Hopkins Cup (for carnations’ open class), Cordes Cup (for carnations, amateur class), Pascoe Cup (for pansies, open class), and the Walker Hall Cup (for gladioli, open class). The show should be of interest to all flower cultivators. Classes for blooms include carnations, sweet peas, pansies, gladioli, delphiniums and antirrhinums, as well as for bouquets, table decorations and produce. Big entries are expected.
