INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES
RECENT CONCILIATIONS CONFERENCE IN GASWORKERS CASE A complete agreement has been reached in the Canister Workers* industrial dispute and complete recommendations will be laid before the Court of Arbitration. The Devonport Steam Ferry-workers* dispute has also been settled, and an award will be made for two years. The preliminary Conciliation Council in the gasworkers’ dispute, under the Labour Disputes Investigation Act. was unable to reach an agreement and the next step is the appointment of a chairman for a round-table conference.
