SIR ARTHUR HOLLAND By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Lieuten-ant-General Sir Arthur Holland, Conservative member of Parliament for Northampton.—A. and N.Z.-Sun. General Sir Arthur Holland was born in 1862. He received his military training at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and received his commission in the Royal Artillery in 1880. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-gen-eral in 1919. He saw active service in Burma, South Africa and France. -During the Great War he was lieutenantgeneral commanding the First Army Corps. He was elected to Parliament as Conservative member for Northampton in October, 1924. when he defeated Miss Margaret Bondfield, the Labour candidate for the seat.
