TROTSKY DENOUNCED
CONGRESS OF COMMUNISTS By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. MOSCOW, Wednesday. At the Congress of the Communist Party, Stalin and the following speakers denounced Trotsky and his policy. A resolution was passed approving of the work of the Central Executive and recommending the executive to develop economic relations with the capitalistic countries. It was urged to accumulate a reserve of grain and goods, and to strengthen the Red Army, and to continue to carry on its policy of peace. The resolution recommended the strengthening of the union between the workers of Russia and those of other States, and of “the oppressed colonial nations.*’ Stalin said the greatest magnanimity had been shown to the members of the opposition in order to afford time for them to think and to withdraw their opposition. They were faced with the alternatives of unconditional submission or exclusion from the Communist Party.—A. and N.Z.
