CONGRATULATORY SOCIAL

1 FUNCTION AT TAKAPUNA

A successful little function was given by the Mayor and Mayoress of Takapuna, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Williamson, at their residence, Clifton Road, as an appreciation to the headmaster, Mr. H. Harrison, and teachers of the Belmont School, for their efforts in the interests of the children of their district during the past year. A number of competitions were played and several musical items added enjoyment to the evening. VICTORIA LEAGUE PARTY AT KNOX HOME A cheery party was given by eight car loads of Victoria League members, who drove out to Knox Home on Tuesday afternoon. A most enjoyable musical programme occupied the' first part of the afternoon. Songs were contributed by Mrs. Kenny, Misses Gwenyth Evans, Marporie Fair, and Dorothy Richardson; violin solos by Miss Isobel Langlands and Mr. R. Fenton. Mr. Dan Flood caused much merriment with his elocutionary items. The accompanists were Mrs. Roger Fenton and Miss Porter.

Afternoon tea was provided by one of the members, Mrs. Bischoff Barribal, who, unfortunately, was unable to be present. Christmas gifts of tobacco, sweets and scent were distributed among the patients.
