HAWAIIAN TROUBADOURS

OPENING ON MONDAY On Monday, December 12, Kaai’s celebrated Hawaiian Troubadours will open at His Majsty’s Theatre for a season of six nights only. They have recently toured the Australian States and achieved a wondrful success. Many new acts and faces have been added to the combination, and the management promise many pleasing surprises. This company has proved itself to be without doubt the most novel and versatile that has ever toured the world under the direction of Mr. Ernest K. Kaai, the well-known Hawaiian musician. They played before His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in order to give the Royal traveller a demonstration of Hawaiian music. They

played for 130 nights at the Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne, and 120 nights at the Prince Edward Theatre, Sydney. Mr. Kaai has been composing Hawaiian songs and dances, which are known all over the world; and he has the distinction of being the first Hawaiian musician to actually place his nation’s melodies into written music. The company includes dancers, singers and instrumentalists.
