National Bank Dividend—The National Bank of New Zealand has received a cable from London advising that the directors have declared an interim dividend for the half-jear ended September 30 at the rate of 12 per cent, per annum. This is the same as for the corresponding period last year. Bank Amalgamation.—According to a report received by the British Trade Commissioner, Mr. E. B. Beale, negotiations are in progress for the amalgamation of the P. and O. Banking Corporation with the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China.
