FOOTFALL DOUBTFUL
Prior to pulling up sore after galloping at Riccartori on Saturday, Footfall v/as the actual favourite here for the Auckland Cup. Our special correspondent at Christchurch yesterday telegraphed that the Autumnus gelding was still under a cloud. Private advices received this morning from Riccarton, however, are emphatic that Footfall is as near a cot case as possible, and one good judge declares that he will be numbered among the missing when the Auckland Cup field lines up. In the meantime Footfall’s preparation is'interruptde, and the early pickers should go canny with the Southerner.
