TRAIN HITS LORRY DRIVER’S NARROW ESCAPE Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. Another of the accident for which the West Street railway crossing is becoming notorious occurred at ten o’clock this morning, when a mixed train from Paekakariki struck a motor-lorry, driven by Mr. W. H. Strange. Heavy rain was falling at the time. Mr. Strange had a remarkable escape from death. He remained in the cab of the motor, which was thrown across the road. The front part, including the driver’s seat, was reduced to a complete wreck.
