WELLINGTON TRAM SERVICE HELD UP STORM CAUSES FAULTS Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. From 6.15 a.m. till 8 o’clock the ■whole tramway service was disorganised owing to the faulty insulation of cables on the Courtney Place section, the result of the storm overnight. It took a long time to locate the fault and in the meanwhile trams, unaware of the position, ran on to dead lines, preventing various services continuing to tlieir destinations.

Oriental Bay, Hataitai and Kilbirnie residents were directly affected by the trouble and having no trams at all many people had to come to work through the tunnel.
