From "Waitemata" to "Hotel Auckland"
NEW NAME WANTED
Permission to • change the name of the Waitemata Hotel to “Hotel Auckland” was the subject of an application made to the Auckland Licensing Committee yesterday. In supporting the application Mr. Graham said that the late licensee, Mr. J. H. Endean. had desired that the name be changed. He had taken steps m that direction by erecting new premises and by specially branding the glassware and crockery for the establishment.
In view of the absence of the chairman, Mr. L. C. Cutten, S.M., the question was deferred until the next quarterly meeting.
