PRIZE-GIVINGS FIXED ROTORUA H.S. CRITICISED “Why should the Rotorua High School be allowed to expend up to 45 per cent, of its reserves without reference to the department, when we are allowed only £25 V” asked Professor A l>. \v. Thomas, chairman of the Auckland Grammar School Board, at a meeting yesterday. It was pointed out that there were special circumstances under which the grant had been made, and no action was taken. The Minister has refused to increase the allowance for unauthorised expenditure from £25 to £SO a year. . , , . The Defence Department advised that it could not hear the expense of setting up an artillery section at the Auckland Grammar School. O. c. Marks and Misses Merritt and Macdiarmid were received. Prize-giving days have been fixed as follows: Auckland Grammar School, December 14, at 2.30 P-m., and the Epsom Girls' Grammar School at 7.45 nm at the school in Mountain Road: Auckland Girls' Grammar School. December 15, at 3 p.m.. and the Mount Albert Grammar School at 7.45 p.m.; Takapuna Grammar School. December 16, at 3 p.m.
