Softly, softly stealing now, Phantoms from another world, With the waning of the light When night’s curtains are unfurled Shadows, shadows, friendly shadows— Symbols from beyond the west, Noiselessly they creep around us, Noiselessly they guard our rest. A —Rising Torrent. No real friendship is ever made without an initial clashing which discloses the metal of each to each. s—Grayson.
