“WORLD AT HER FEET”

AT NEW REGENT ON FRIDAY Can a woman lawyer ethically use her divorce client as a foil to patch her own marital differences? In other words, can she strike up an affair with a man who suspects his own wife of indiscretion, so that she may make her own husband jealous? The problem is met and solved in Florence Vidor’s new starring vehicle for Paramount, “The World At Her Feet,*’ which was directed by Luther Reed, and which reaches the New Regent Theatre on Friday. Arnold Kent, Paramount leading man, heads Miss Vidor’s supporting cast. Other members are Margaret Quimby, Richard Tucker, and William Austin. Robert J. Flaherty is an explorer of note. Some time ago he went to the Arctic region, and brought back a wonder picture, which was called “Nanook of the North.” A little later he disappeared for a couple of years, to return with another jewel romance of real life. He had been for 20 months on the island of Savaii, in the village of Safune, Samoa. He, living the life of the fast-disappearing Polynesians, has brought back a picture of rare delight. All the allure and charm of the South Seas are in the Paramount picture, “Moana,” which ■will be shown on the same programme at the New Regent on Friday.
