DO YOU OWN THIS CAR?

NO. 19

IF SO YOU ARE ENTITLED TO EIGHT GALLONS OF PETROL FREE.

WATER IN PETROL TANK Very often the car owner is troubled with water in his petrol tank. Even when the tank is removed, it is no easy

job to get the water out. Try this: Pour about a quart of methylated spirits—the commercial brand will do ‘ —into tank. Swirl round and it will 1 carry out any grit or water. i

Where the tank cannot be removed without difficulty, tie a small chamois leather to the end of a stiff piece of wire, insert through the orifice and wipe round the lowest point of the tank where the water has collected. The chamois should then be withdrawn and thoroughly rinsed in clean water, the process being repeated until the tank is dry.
