STRUCK BY AXLE DIES IN HOSPITAL (From Our Own Correspondent) KAITAIA, To-day. Sydney Mare, a native, aged 19, son of Pauri Mare, of Houhora, was with a party on a motor-lorry on Ninetymile Beach on Sunday shooting. The lorry was travelling at a fair speed, when Mare jumped oft'. An axle hit him on the head. He was brought to Kaitaia and exam.ned bv Dr. Rix and sent to the Mmgonui Hospital, and operated on immediately. He never recovered consciousness died on Sunday night.
