By-product Company, Ltd., handled 30,000 calves in the period of July 16 to October 8. Of these 25,509, or 85.03 per cent., were passed, the rejections being 188 dead and 4,303 condemned. The weight of the calves received was 1,019,7671 b and of those passed 897,3001 b. The average weight of the killed calves was 33.991 b. The proportion of bones was 50.05 per cent, to the carcase and the condemned weights of 116,8531 b included 50 per cent, bones.

Therefore 58,4261 bof meat was condemned and the actual loss from the condemned carcases was £252 6s. It is estimated that the season’s operations have involved a turnover of £40,000.
