INSURANCE CLAIM

QUESTION OF LIABILITY RIGHTS OF WORKER (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. An action to recover £ 500 insurance in respect of a claim under the Workers’ Compensation Act was brought by William Thomas Carr against the Guardian Insurance Company, of Auckland, and Cracknell and Crimp, accountants, of Hamilton, in the Supreme Court to-day. The main question at issue was whether a carpenter employed by the plaintiff was covered under the insurance policy which defendants contended referred to a farm labourer only. The case is proceeding. His Honour intimated that the alternating charge against Messrs. Cracknell and Crimp must fail. Argument in respect of the Guardian Company’s liabilities is unfinished.
