pr. Kenneth McKenzie returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to Dunedin.

Mr J- W. Horsley returned to Auckland this morning from Dunedin on holiday. Mr. F. F. Higgins a prominent member of the Napier Harbour Board, is visiting Auckland. The Hon. E. \V. Alison. M.L.C., returned from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. Beaumont Smith, who has been visiting the South, returned to Auckland this morning. Mr. A. H. Johnstone and Mr. Robert McVeagh returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. D. Hebenton, of Wellington, organiser of the Reform Party, is staying at Hotel Cargen. Mr. J- Smith, superintending engineer of the Union Steam Ship Co., also arrived in Auckland this ingMr. J- W. Collins, of Wellington, secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. D. R. MacGregor, London: Mr. tU A. Stuart, Dunedin: and Mr. J. caughley. Wellington, are at Hotel Stoneburst. Captain P. J Foster, Marine Superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. Raynor White, of Christchurch, has been appointed organist and musical director at the Wanganui College, and takes up his duties early in the New Year. Mr. W. R- Tuck, president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Alliance, returned this morning from Wellington, where he attended a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Alliance. Mr. C. A. Sharp, who has been selected as one of New Zealand’s Khodes Scholars, arrived from Wellington this morning, and is staying with his uncle, Mr. C. R. Smith, “Raymere,” Symonds Street.
