GUILLOTINE MOTION

Baldwin, asked for the passage of a guillotine motion to ensure the passage of the Insurance Bill, on the ground of the congestion of business. He made no complaint of obstruction. _ . \ long debate followed. The Labour members moved several amendments with a view to increasing the time available for the debate. The guillotine motion was eventually carried by 236 votes to 100.—A. and N.Z-
