DAIRY EXPORT LICENCES The attitude of the Dairy Export Board on the export licence question has been challenged by Mr. J. Hine, a Taranaki member of the board. board issued export licences j conditional on furnishing returns ' and allowing the audit of overseas \ merchants' accounts. Mr. Hine proposes to move at the ! next meeting of the board: That as there are grave doubts as to ; whether the board can use its powers under the Act to enforce, indirectly, j on the English merchants the condi- ( tions contained in Clause 8 of the ex- i port licence, by casting upon the New j Zealand exporter the obligation of secur-i ing the aforesaid merchants’ com- ! pliance, it is hereby resolved that the j necessary steps be taken to have Clause 8, and also Clause 6, of the said export j licence deleted.
