BORING FOR WATER

SUPPLY IN WELLINGTON HOPE OF PERMANENCY Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. Twenty-five years ago the firm of Messrs. Thompson and Lewis bored on their premises in Tory Street for artesian water, good water being a necessity of their business. A stream was struck, but it soon failed. About six months ago, on the advice of a water diviner, they had another try, and 500 feet down obtained what appears to be a more permanent supply of pure soft water. The work took three and a-half months,' and the water rises 20 feet above the ground. If the supply is permanent it will be the first artesian water obtained in Wellington.
