ESCAPED PRISONER FOUND AT ONEHUNGA QUICK RECAPTURE Yesterday a prisoner, Robert James Brydon, discarded his crutches in ail attempt to regain his liberty. He was recaptured last evening by Sergeant Cruickshank at Onehunga in the home of Robert Harris, a coloured ship’s cook, who was recently convicted on a charge of attempting to commit suicide. TJRYDON was an habitual crimina' who was serving his sentence o; four years’ imprisonment at the Mount Eden Gaol. Some time ago he crusher his foot and was receiving treatmen at the Auckland Hospital. Yesterday morning, after treatmen at the hospital, he received permission to go to the lavatory, from which ht escaped through a wndow, leaving hi: crutches behind him. Evidently Br> don got a lift to Onehunga from i passing motorist. He will be charged with escaping from custody.
