FROM A LETTER
I have watched tho Sunbeams playing in Happy Town and I wish to join their frolics. I saw your rosy face peeping between the hills this morning from my bedroom window, as it looks out to the east. Golden buttercups and dandelions are crowning the little hills now. In the evening two cuckoos como near the house, and we can hear them whistling to each other. I have two pet rabbits, one white and the other silver grey. Often I take them out of their hutches on to the grass for a long run. They never run away because I tamed them when they were babies. I have left my love letters to Jean Me In doe and the Little Thought in the Hollow Tree. —Gay du Faur (aged 10).
