HARKER—WOOD

The church at Te Kawa was the scene of a pretty choral wedding on Thursday, when Mr. George T. Harker, eldest son of Mr. Henry Harker a well-known farmer of that district, was married to liliss Enid Gabrielle Wood, of Redhill, Surrey, England. The Rev. W. Butterworth, of Te Awamutu, officiated, and Mrs. Sclioles presided at the organ. The church had been prettily decorated for the occasion. The bride looked charming in a gown of white georgette trimmed with white diamante and pearls, with net veil, and she carried a dainty bouquet of lilies. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mrs. Wilson, at which the customary toasts were honoured, Mr. Butterworth proposing the health of the newly-married couple remarking that the bride, who had only recently arrived from England, was assured of a hearty welcome in the community. Mr. G. C. Hodgson appropriately proposed the toast of the parents of the bridegroom and the mother of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Harker left later in the afternoon by motor for Rotorua district, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a fawn coat costume, with blue hat and scarf. They will make their home at Te Kawa ________________
