“BEN HUR”
WONDERFUL COSTUME CHANGES Fifty changes of costumes, all of them typical of the first century of the Christian era, were required of the principal players in Metro-Gold - wyn-Mayer’s screen version of Lew Wallace’s famous novel apd play, “Ben Hur." The designs for the costumes were made chiefly by Camillo Innoncenti, one of the most celebrated Italian artists, whose paintings are to be found in galleries all over the world. Ramon Novarro, May McAvoy, Carmel Myers. Francis X. Bushman. Claire McDowell and Frank Currier are among the players who wear these wonderful costumes in “Ben Hur.’’
