PROTHERO—COOPER St. Mark’s Church was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday afternoon, when Miss Dorothy Laura Cooper, the niece of Mrs. Richard Smith, of Great South Road, was married by the Rev. Jasper Calder to Mr. Herbert F. Prothero, the only son of Mrs. Birch, of London. The bridal frock was of ivory georgette superimposed on a foundation of faintly pink satin faconne. and made with a deep transparent hem. Silvery embroidered lace was effectively fashioned into an overskirt of graceful length and the pretty frock was simply trimmed with sprays of orange blossoms, twined with rose-coloured ribbons. A veil of dainty Iloniton lace was prettily arranged under a narrow circlet of orange blossoms, with little flusters of orange blossoms over the ears, while at intervals knots of silver embroidery gave it added beauty. A sheaf of pale rose carnations and rosebuds made a charming accessory to her toilette. Miss Esther Tonks acted as bridesmaid, wearing an attractive frock of ficelle georgette with a delicate tracery of embroidery in self toning. She wore a becoming crinoline hat to harmonise with her frock, and carried a bouquet of pretty rosebuds. Two matrons of honour also attended the bride, Mrs. Rex Hoyes and Mrs. Wallis, of Wellington, who wore frocks of pistachio green georgette over rose bush foundations. Plisse frills, arranged in a series of flat layers, formed the effective skirts that were joined at a low waistline to long slender bodices. Hats or rose lotus crinoline straw were worn, each being charmingly trimmed with a single large rose at the side, and they carried bouquets of rosebuds and carnations. The bride was given away by her stepfather, Mr. H. Mann. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Jack Beedell as best man, and Mr. Rex Hoyes and Mr. Jack Gordon were ushers. A reception was held after the ceremony at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. H. P.
