RONA REACHES SYDNEY.—A cablegram from Sydney states the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's steamer Kona arrived from Auckland yesterday. She left Auckland on November 25. WAIPAHI SAILING. The Union Company advises that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi, which was to leave Auckland at noon to-day for Suva, loads there on Decemner S for Auckland, and is due back here about December 14. KARTIGI FROM SYDNEY. A late radio message rec% ved by the local office of the Union Company states that the cargo steamer Kari\ i is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at three o’clock this afternoon from Sydney. After pratique has been granted, the vessel will berth at the Queen’s Wharf. THE WHAKAKURA. —The Admiralty minespeewer Whakakura, which has been in Hauraki Gulf during the week carrying out exercises with the warships Dunedin and Diomede, returned to port yesterday morning to secure floating targets. She left again in the afternoon with the targets in tow. RE MU ERA TO COMPLETE.-The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Remuera, wnich arrived at Napier yesterday from Wellington, leaves on Monday for Gisborne and Auckland to complete her loading. She is due here on Thursday next, and is to sail finally from this port on Saturday, December 10, for Southampton and London via Panama. TAMAROa leaves balboa. Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that their liner Tamaroa left Balboa on Sunday evening for Wellington and Auckland, en route from London and Southampton. She is due at Wellington on December 19 and at Auckland a week later. RIMUTAKA LEAVES PANAMA.—The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cablegram that their liner Rimutaka arrived at Colon last Saturday from London and Southampton, and left Panama on Sunday for Wellington, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and Napier. The vessel is due at Wellington on December 21. HERTFORD LEAVES LTVERPOCL.— A cable message to the New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Federal steamer Hertford sailed from Liverpool last Sunday with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. The vessel is due at Auckland on January MIDDLESEX AT LONDON.—According to a cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company, the Federal steamer Middlesex arrived at London on Sunday morning from Wellington, via Halifax. The vessel sailed from Wellington on October 20, and arrived at London on the morning of the thirty-eighth day out. WEST IVAN DISCHARGING.—Advice received by Henderson and Macfarlane states that the American steamer West Ivan was to leave Nelson last night for Lyttelton, thence Dunedin and Bluff to complete her discharge of Pacific Coast cargo. From Bluff the vessel will return to the Pacific Coast to load again for New Zealand. PACIFIC TRANSPORT’S MOVEMENTS.—Henderson and Macfarlane advises that the tramp steamer Pacific Transport, which has completed her discharge of Nauru phosphates, and is now undergoing slight repairs will leave Auckland at 5 p.m., on Tuesday for Westport for bunkers before proceeding to Makatea Island to load for Newcastle. To-morrow at noon the vessel goes to anchor in the stream.

TONGARIRO IN PORT.-To lift further cargo for Home, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tongariro arrived at Auckland this morning from Napier and berthed at the Queen’s Wharf. From here the vessel proceeds to Napier, thence Wellington and Lyttelton, to complete and is scheduled to sail finally from Lyttelton on December 21 for London via Panama.

ROTORUA AT PANAMA.—CabIe advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping: Company that the lraer Rotorua, which loaded in New Zealand, and sailed from Wellington on November 10 for Southampton and London, arrived at Panama yesterday. AO RANG! DUE SUNDAY.-En route from Vancouver via ports, the Union Company has been advised that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi left Suva at 8.30 p m. vesterdav for Auckland, where she is due at 6 p in. on Sunday. The Aorangi is to berth at the Prince's Wharf, and is announced to sail from Auckland at 11 p.m. on Monday for Sydney. ATHOLL AT NEW PLYMOUTH.— Telegraphic advice received by Henderson and Macfariane states that the tramp steamer Atholl arrived at New Plymouth at 9.30 this morning from Nauru Island. The vessel has a full cargo of phosphates for at New Plymouth and Wanganui. THE CANADIAN PIONEER.—The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Pioneer is to leave Napier for Auckland to-day, and is due on Monday morning. After completing her loading here she will sail finally on Tuesday for New York, Boston and Halifax. HORORATA REPORTS.—Radio advice by the local office of the New' Zealand Shipping Company states that the steamer Hororata is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 7 p.m. on Monday from London. The vessel, which is bringing general cargo for discharge at this port and Wellington, will afterwards load in the South, and then return to Auckland on January 16 to fill up for Home, sailing from here on January 21 for London via Panama. KINTYRE FOR NEW ZEALAND. Advice has been received by Henderson and Macfariane that the ste~*ner Kintyre is to load phosphates f ring the second half of December at C;. a Blanca, Morocco, for Auckland and Lyttelton. The vessel is expected to arrive here during February, 1925. CROSSKEYS DUE SUNDAY. A further radio message received by Henderson and Macfariane states that the American steamer Crosskeys is now expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland on Sunday morning from the Pacific Coast She is to berth at the King’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo, and to load for Launceston, Melbourne, and Sydney. MATAKANA DUE.—Due at Auckland to-morrow morning from London via Suva, the Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Matakana will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo under the auspices of L. D. Nathan and Co. From this port the Matakana proceeds to Wellington and New Plymouth to complete discharge. TANKERS FROM SINGAPORE.—The motor-ship Larchbank and the tanker Silver Shell are reported to have sailed from Singapore on November 21 for New Zealand. The Larchbank is owned by Andrews and Company. She was built at Glasgow m 1920 Her tonnage is 5,150 gross. The Silver Shell is an American-built tanker of 5,605 tons. The vessel was constructed and she is owned by the Silver Shell Steamship Company, of New York. MAJESTIC’S RADIO SET.—When the Majestic sailed from New York recently she had on board one of the latest Ameri-can-made radio receiving sets, which was installed in her lounge for the purpose of testing the reception of broadcasting programmes from both European and American stations during her voyage. It had a built-in power cone, with power amplifiers, giving volume enough to fill the ballroom lounge of the ship. It is quite possible that radio receiving sets will be made a permanent feature of the ship’s equipment for amusing passengers in the future.
