This station is on 31.86 metres. The transmission can be heard clearly and is steady throughout. Another station heard in Auckland recently is PCLL, a Dutch station on 21.2 metres, which has come on the air since PCJJ closed down for alterations. A Devonport listener states that this transmission is good but is not steady. Other reports state that the strength is greater at times than that of PCJJ used to be. Arrangements have been completed to broadcast descriptions of the main events of the New Zealand Athletic Championships held in Christchurch, by 3YA. On December 9 the announcer will be Mr. Allardyce and on the next day, Mr. J. K. Mahoney, a Christchurch solicitor, whose talks on Rugby were broadcast during the past season. This broadcast is of special interest since the winners of New Zealand championship honours will meet athletes from Australia at Christmas time in Wellington to determine which representatives will attend the Olympic Games in Holland next year. Descriptions of these latter events will be broadcast by PCJJ and relayed by 2BD.
