WINK FROM THE DOCK

COY VISITOR FROM SYDNEY WANTED TO GO HOME Enid Rachael Hahn, aged 23, a visitor from Sydney, gave a wink of triumph as she left the dock at the Police Court to-day. CHE appeared for sentence on charges of stealing a snuff-box valued at £2O, and £l7 10s in money. Chief-Detective Cummings said the accused had enough money to make restitution. Since arriving in Auckland she had been leading a gay life, getting money from married and single men. The Magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, ordered her to come up for sentence any time within 12 months. “I’d like to go back to Sydney,’ said accused. Chief-Detective Cummings: She'll get every assistance to do that. “I’d like to go,” said the lady, as she winked at the magistrate.
