Panelled Walls
Panelling is, perhaps, the oldest form of interior decoration, just as it is the most enduring; but few people consider it suitable for small rooms. The prevailing idea is that, any but a very large room panelled instead of papered would look gloomy and dark. To some extent this impression has been formed by the panelling in rooms unrelieved by cheerful hangings of coloured chintz. But modern panelling is responsible for sonic beautiful effects , and is an ideal background for any colour scheme. The cost of panelling is by no means prohibitive for the wood is not expensive . but, of course, much depends upon the style chosen and the amount of work involved. Unlike wallpaper panelling does not need renewal, and there is no depreciation in the value of the wood as time goes on. .Vote that so many people own their own own houses, permanent decorative, schemes are possible, and the use of wood instead of wallpaper is an idea which adds much to the individuality and charm of a home.
