SIDEY MEMORIAL
LITTLE ENTHUSIASM IN AUCKLAND
Exactly five people were sufficiently interested to attend a meeting- at the Town Hall yesterday afternoon to consider Auckland’s position in respect to the institution of some permanent memorial to Mr. Sidey. M.P.. in recognition of the passing of Summer Time. However, the five represented a big interest, including sports and motorists. Mr. R. B. Lusk explained that it was proposed to institute a one shilling contribution list all over New Zealand with the idea of founding a scholarship or some similar memorial, to be called after Mr. Sidey. The meeting adopted the proposal and all the Auckland sports bodies will be asked to circulate lists.
