DIFFICULTIES OF N.Z. CONTRACTS FUSION DECIDED ON By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Rec-d. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Tnesday. Mr. Frater Taylor, speaking at the shareholders’ meeting of Sir W. G. Armstrong, Whitworth and Company, Limited, said they did not yet know the full measure of the adjustments necessary in respect of losses on the company’s trading ventures, as even now they had difficult situations to clear up, especially certain large contracts in N w Zealand, on which subject friendly discussions were going on with the New Zealand Government. At the meeting of the holders of various classes of shares and debentures in the company, resolutions were passed for the fusion with Vickers, Limited. Some of the debenture-holders angrily protested against the writingoff of £11,000,000. Similar meetings of the Vickers shareholders also adopted the resolutions.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
