RED MASSACRE
TERRORISM IN. CHINA REPORT OF BISHOP By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. HONG-KONG, Monday. Stories of Red terrorism in the Hoi fung district are confirmed by Bishop Valtorta, vicar apostolic, who says he has been informed by many refugees who have reached Hong-Kong. that in the small town of Cipseng over 600 people were massacred, apart from those killed in other places. A ghastly procession termed the “Red Triumph” carried the heads of the victims from Cipseng to Hoifung. ! Among the victims was a very old and distinguished Chinese scholar, j Before being slaughtered he was subjected to torture, his nose being cut off and his ears pierced. Similar outrages were perpetrated in many locali- : ties. j Red spies are everywhere and are earning a dollar a. day for their services. while the murderers of anticommunists secure a reward of 10 dollars for each victim. —A. and N.Z.
