MR. O. A. MOLLER, Vice-natron Takapuna Boating Club The Takapuna Boating Club owes a groat (leal of its present prosperity to the enthusiasm and energy of one of its earlier members, O. A. Moller, who, since its reorganisation, has always been to the fore in Takapuna’s activities.

Mr. Moller is now vice-patron of his club, and is also a life member. As chairman of the Cornwell Cup entertainment committee, he is doing valued work in looking after the social side of the contests. He is equally keen in promoting the racing and encouraging the young yachtsmen in these tests.

Mr. Moller has held the position of commodore for four years, during which term he played a large part with other well-known Takapuna men in the erection of the fine clubhouse pos>cssed by his club. As president of tho Bayswatcr-Belmont Progressive Association-, Mr. Moller has done a -rent deal for the advancement of the marine suburbs, and his energetic ability makes him a valued member of th North Shore expansion League. Until 1916 he lived in the South Island, first in Dunedin and later in c hristchurch, in which centres he actively pursued rowing as well as boating. As a youth of 17, Mr. Moller held office as secretary of the Ravensbourne Boating Club, and was instrumental in having a boathouse erected for his club, and it was due to his energy that in three years the building was entirely free of debt. When he went to Christchurch, at the age of 20, he took up rowing with eminent success in a fours crew. At this time swimming interested him greatly, and he did much to encourage the sport in Canterbury. On coming to Auckland, Mr. Moller bought the launch Opal, in which he cruised for some years, and subsequently disposed of. There are many aquatic clubs which would be only too glad to include so able a financial pilot as Mr. Moller on their membership roll, but Takapuna is not likely to lose him yet.
