As a result of slackness of trade, and financial stringency, and the entry of cheap foreign goods, another large Sydney firm, George A. Bond and Co., Ltd., hosiery and underwear manufacturers, propose voluntary liquidation. The company’s assets total £1,522,408. It employs 1,200 women and 800 men.—A. and N.Z. WILL CARRY ON SMITH AND WADDINGTON CO. MOTOR-BODY BUILDERS Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A meeting of shareholders of Smith and Waddington adopted a scheme approved by the bank to carry on operations till at least March 31.—A. and N.Z. A Sydney' cablegram of November 19 read as follows: ‘.‘The directors of Smith and Wadding-ton, motor-body buildeis, decided to suspend trading operations temporarily., and :>se' entire stall, totalling between 300 and 400, has been paid off. The directors propose to reorganise the trading department. The result of trading operations will be explained to the shareholders, when the future of the company will be decided.”
