SOME KEEN CONTESTS (From Our Own Correspondent) TB AROHA, To-day. A successful boxing: tournament was held at Te Aroha last evening when the following bouts werq decided: A. Craig (Te Awamutu), 9.9, beat Ardley (Te Awamutu), 8.9; L. Stewart (Te Aroha), 9.0, beat Harford (Te Awamutu), 8.9; J. Tierney (To Aroha), 10.11, beat W. Pitcher (Tahuna), 11.1; Meehan (Te Aroha), 8.9, lost to E. Davis (Huntly), 8.3; R. Whitten (Te Aroha), 9.13; defeated N. Prenter (Te Aroha), 8.11; Jock Wilson (Frankton), 9.7, lost to Bennett (Te Awamutu), 9.11; Jenson (Te Aroha), 10.11, lost to J. Williams, (Frankton), 11.0; C. Wright (Te Aroha), 9.10, defeated L. Nobili (Frankton), 10.1, in six two-minute rounds. This was the best bout of the evening, strenuously fought and a very even contest. Nobili made the pace, but Wright scientifically defended.
