A LITTLE FLARE
HR. LYSNAR LOSES HIS PAPERS (THE SUE’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Monday. IF Mr. W. D. Lysnar, member for Gisborne, were in the habit of depending upon carefully thought out notes for his speeches in the House, he would no doubt have to remain more or less dumb for the rest of the session, for this evening a fire in his room in the old wing of the building destroyed a number of papers on his writing-desk. Calling for telegrams at about 9.30 this evening, a post office messenger found Mr. Lysnar's room full of smoke and papers blazing on the table. Dashing out, he summoned one of the uniformed attendants, who infest the building, and the pair of them got busy with a hose placed handy for just such an occurrence. One squirt and the fire was out, but Mr. Lysnar’s papers were beyond saving. No other damage was done.
