NO INTENTIONAL CRUELTY

MARE WITH SORES (From Our Own Correspondent) CAMBRIDGE, To-day. In the Cambridge Magistrate’s Court yesterday a youth named John Grafton was charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a mare by driving her with open sores on her side and shoulder. Joseph William Wakefield, owner of the horse, was charged with permitting the horse to be used. Both informations were dismissed by the presiding justices, Messrs. A. J. Arnold and H. Alan Bell, who thought, though a certain amount of neglect had been shown, there was no intentional cruelty. Grafton was reprimanded. The fase has created a considerable amount of interest locally.
