STARRING POLA NEGRI A story that came to the author in a dream, and when it was written proved one of the most tremendous 1 masterpieces of war fiction ever written, has been transferred to the screen through the artistry of Pola Negri and her supporting cast at the Paramount studio. Hall Caine, one of England’s greatest writers. visioned the story one j night in 1922, was so impressed by it that he arose from his sleep and, starting to write, did not stop until ' the entire story was transcribed to paper. He called it “The Woman of Knockaloe.” It has been adapted to the screen as “Barbed Wire,” a titanic indictment of the unnatural hatreds ! bred by international conflict, as j viewed far behind the battle to be volcanic in its emotional sweep and one i of the greatest pictures in which Pola , Negri has ever appeared. Rowland V. Lee directed the picture. • In the supporting cast are Clive Brook, Einar Hanson, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Clyde Cook, an Australian, and Claude Gilling water.
