THE Takapuna Jockey Club’s Spring Fixture was concluded 1 to-day in showery weather. There was again a good attendance. The course was in fine order and the racing interesting. Results:—

Won by three lengths, similar distance between second and third. Time, 1.2 S 3-5. One for the President Pompeius gave a lot of trouble at the barrier, refusing to join the field, but eventually lie got away in the bunch. Luxurious was first to become prominent, but he was soon displaced by Flying Tresses, who rushed to the front followed by Taurimu, with Luxurious and Bombarder next. Down the back there was no change with the leaders, but Queen Comet and Diamond Queen moved up. Crossing the top Flying Tresses was still showing the way to Bombarder, while Saucy Lass had run into third position. Flying Tresses, Bombarder and Saucy Lass were practically in line entering the straight, but inside the distance Saucy Lass asserted her claim and came on to win by three lengths, with Flying Tresses two lengths away third. Then came Taurimu and Luxurious.

Whaka Kin§ At Last Whaka King hopped out smartly and led from Orchus, Atapai, Catapult and Flitter past the six furlongs, with no alteration when the five furlong post was reached. Crossing the top the order was Whaka King, Orchus, Atapai, Flitter, Catapult and Kyngzone,
but approaching the turn Orchus, who was going well, met with interference and dropped back. Whaka King was first into the straight, and although Flitter and Catapult threw out determined challenges, Wiggins kept his mount going to win by a head from Flitter, Catapult a neck away third and The Lover fourth. Time, The Favourite Succeeds A good start saw the field in line till Red Comet showed in front, but lie was soon supplanted by Daddy’s Girl, who led Red Comet, Lord TliurnIrim and Kamehnmeha past the stand and out of the straight. Down the back Daddy’s Girl had command from Kamehameha. Uralla and Potoanui who had been carried out at the bend. At the six furlong post the latter was up with the leader, Red Comet, Uralla and Wedding March being their nearest attendants. Crossing the top Potoanui began to fade and Gold Bain moved up to the front division. Daddj s Girl still held a slight lead turning for home from Red Comet and Wedding March, hut tiie last-named did best in the run home and won by three parts of a. length from Red Comet, with Gold Rain finishing well in third berth. Royal Doulton’s Royal Win Pompeius was again troublesome at the post, but the field got away in good order, Subdivision and King Arch being the early leaders, with Abbess, Carinthia, Lady Robinson and Rarakau following. King Arch led to the five furlongs and here Subdivision again assumed command, and showed the way across the top to King Arch, Abbess, Lady Robinson, Carinthia, Wyoming and Royal Doulton, who was putting in fast work. King Arch headed Subdivision at the straight entrance,; with Abbess, Lady Robinson, Rarakau and Royal Doulton in close attendance. Once straightened up the favaway third and Abbess was next to win by half a length from an outsider in Lady Robinson, King Arch a neck pass the post, post. Time, 1.15 2-5. Easy for Paganelli From an even break Awarere was the first to become conspicuous, with High Finance, Paganelli and Dave leading the remainder. At the five furlongs High Finance was in the van, Awarere, Paganelli, Dave and Town Guard following in close formation. Crossing the top Paganelli was running beside High Finance at the head of affairs, Dave and Awarere being next, while Town Guard, who was in a handy position, fell. Paganelli piloted the field into the straight with Dave, Awarere, High Finance and Nastori following, and the leader was not troubled to win by three lengths from Dave, with Nastori a neck away third.
