The sum of £355 is to be voted for the expenses of the New Zealand representatives at the opening of th e Commonwealth Federal Farliament at Canberra. An additional £2,000 is to be provided for the cost of official functions and the entertainment of visitors to the Dominion. The Board of Maori Arts and Crafts is to receive a grant of £1,252. The sum of £I.OOO is to be grant’ 7 to the New Zealand Cricket Council to assist in meeting the expenses <.’ the recent tour of the New Zealand cricketers abroad. The cost of New Zealand representation at the International Economi - and Naval Disarmament Conference is to be met by a vote cf £550. A special grant of £1,250 is to be made to Sir Trubv King on his retirement. A subsidy of £SOO £1 for £1 is a • lowed to the Girl Guides Association A further £5,000 is to be appropriated in connection with the visa of the Duke and Duchess of York. Another '£7so, which is recoverable, is to be voted for the cost of the Auckland Water and Drainage Com mission of Inquiry, The women's division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union is to receive a grant of £l5O toward the cost of railway transit of nurse and visiting housekeeper. The Royal New Zealand Society ior the Health of Women and Children is to receive the following grants: Karitane Hospital. Christchurch, buildiat. £500; Auckland Karitane Hospital, building, £250; Karitane Hospital, Wellington. maintenance, £1,000: Karitane Hospital, Invercargill, maintenance, £625; subsidies toward th= salaries of Plunket nurses, £2,000. A subsidy of £555, for the Mangonui Hospital, is to be provided. • • • An additional £5,700 is to be voted for repairs, alterations, docking, etc., of H.M.S. Dunedin and £535 for tie minesweeper, H.M.S. Wakakura. The charges fop the Napier Harbour Board Commission are £3,500, and this amount, which is recoverable, is to be voted. A further £IO,OOO is provided for the portion of the freight rate cn fertilisers carried by the Railway Department. For the rent of land, wages ard general working expenses, etc., in connection with the horticultural station at Te Kauwhata, an extra £I,OOO Is provided. A subsidy of £B,OOO is to be voted for rd-testing associations. To assist in meeting the 1926 deficit, £3,000 is to be granted to the Otago University, which will also receive £I,OOO to provide for additional maintenance in respect to new medical and dental school buildings. An additional subsidy of £25.000 is provided for the teachers’ superannuation fund. A sum of £5,000 is to be provided for the purchase of stock, etc., for the Massey Agricultural College. The sum of £215 is to be set aside for the remission of the balance of death duties in the estate of the lata John McGregor. An additional £50,000 is provided for extra labour in connection with the maintenance of telegraph and telephone lines. * * • For the expenses of the chief te'egraph engineer in attending the world radio conference £I,OOO is allocated. An additional £IO.OOO is provided for the restoration of roadworks and bridges damaged by flood, and an additional £11,293 for maintenance airl repairs to roads. Ex gratia payments totalling £5,-KC are to be made to offset tp settlers from tailings from the Vi ai-hou-Ohinemuri Rivers improve men scheme. To cover the expenses of the Confiscated Native Lands Commission a further £SOO is to he allowed. For the maintenance of lepers at Makogai a sum is £650 is_to be aside, in addition to £1.250 for cost of removal of lepers from is® Cook Islands. The sum of £9.000 is to be granted for prison farm and garden devel ip ment work. The expenses of the Ministerial to Western Samoa are to be met b) vote of £585, while the expenses o the Royal Commission are to be met by a vote of £3,000.
