RAIN IN NEW SOUTH WALES
STATE GREATLY BENEFITED By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. SYDNEY, Sunday. Heavy rain yesterday caused the postponement of all race meetings and many other sporting fixtures, but the pastoral areas, particularly in the western district, have greatly benefited. From all parts of the State come jubilant reports of splendid rains and full rivers. In some places there have been floods, which have caused damage to crops and the losses of newly-shorn sheep. Several Inches of rain have fallen since Wednesday. At Gosford, 50 miles north of Sydney, over seven inches have fallen.
