NEW BRITISH VICTORIA CROSS FILM

A GALLIPOLI PICTURE A new British film, upon which work is due to begin almost immediately, is entitled “For Valour,” and will deal with the history of the Victoria Cross from the Crimean War, when it was instituted, to the end of the late war. Mr. C. B. Samuelson, a veteran British producer, will direct the film. A representative selection of deeds which won the V.C. is to be made. Famous V.C.’s who will be impersonated include Ford Roberts and his son, General Congreve and his son, Jack Cornwell, and Captain W. L. RobinMr. Samuelson has just completed a film entitled “Motherland,” which I s a most unusual angle. It tells the story oil three families —Jewish, Roman Catholic, and Protestant —the sons of which meet in the trenches during: the war. Miss Eva Moore and Mr. Rex Davis are the principal players. General Sir lan Hamilton, who was the British commander of the Gallipoli enterprise, has informed British Instructional Films, who are now completing preparations for a new film in which the campaign will figure prominently, that he will do everything in his power to assist them. It is also a possibility that he will make a personal appearance in the film. This new film is entitled, “Tell England.” and is based upon Mr. Ernest Raymond’s work of that name. It will be distributed in this country by ProPatria Films, Limited, a new' all-Brit-ish renting company, of which Mr. A. E. Bundy is the chairman.
