RAILWAY TRAFFIC
MARKED INCREASE GOOD SEASON EXPECTED This week has been a particularly busy one with passenger traffic on the Main Trunk line. The incoming Limited has been a capacity train almost every morning, and the night trains have been well tilled. Last evening extra sleeping cars had to be placed on the Limited, ”>rincipally to carry the 68 wool buyers who were going South, but the ordinary traffic was also heavy. This morning both expresses were packed. The first train brought the members of the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, as well as a number of visitors, and there was an extra sleeping car on the Limited, whicn was a very full train. With the advent of the Daylight Limited on December 5 and the diday excursion fares soon afterwards, the railways traffic is expected to increase considerably. Inquiries regarding fares to various parts of New Zealand have been numerous at the booking office, and already seats have been ’ ooked for the Daylight 1 a'mi ted.
